My 3-Day Juice Cleanse: Breakthrough & Breaking the Fast

Going through the 3 day juice-cleanse has proven to be a success both for me and for my readers. This is clearly a subject people enjoy. I totally intend to do this type of cleanse again next year. The rapid benefits are too good not to repeat. Like I said in the beginning, this for me was for the purpose of spiritual renewal, increased motivation and physical detoxification. I also used this time to detoxify from most electronics. While I agree there is a place for social media, stepping away from it allowed me to see how much time I spend on it. And being away from it, allowed me to better plan my schedule around it.

I’m sure you’ve heard the term “with God all things are possible”. During this cleanse, I found myself returning to this affirmation over and over when it became unbearable. The difficulties allowed me to reflect back to the period in my life when I was diagnosed with breast cancer up to the point where I am today. Even though it’s hard to imagine, sometimes I forget how sick I really was. Life gets busy and I became distracted. During my meditation, I was brought back to a place of gratitude, envisioned myself completely healed and had a clear vision of my goals. The transformation I experienced is almost hard for me to put it into words.

Being away from “food you chew” actually allowed me to be more mindful when I did reintroduce solids. I wanted to eat slow, taste every morsel, and thoroughly enjoy the act of eating. We are always in such a rush that it’s easy to forget how good it is to feel these things. Here are other things I experienced during and immediately after the cleanse:

✔ Heightened awareness/alertness

✔ Great Sleep

✔ Improved sight, smell, taste, and hearing

✔ Clearer complexion (a rash I’ve had on my back for months has completely disappeared!)

✔ Weight loss (and the renewed mindset to keep it off)

Since my appetite was already reduced, it was easy to break the fast. Like I do on most mornings, I started with lemon water and juiced vegetables, I prepared a fruit and vegetable smoothie to go. I also added warm liquids, homemade miso and vegetable soups and lots of herbal teas. The following day (yesterday) I introduced eggs, beans and fresh vegetables. For the rest of the week, I intend to stay on these foods then reintroduce other food groups slowly.

I’d like to thank all who encouraged me along the way, those who I inspired to do a cleanse as a result of my experience, and to my friends Manya, Rena, Kate, Ellen, Michelle, Laura and my husband Led for taking part in this adventure with me. Look out for his comical post tomorrow where he will share his perspective on this experience. I’ve seen the rough draft and you are in for a real insiders view of me! Don’t judge… LOL!

Note: Talk to your healthcare provider before on embarking on any cleansing adventures ;-)

I read all the articles leading up to this Grand Finale, and I must say I laughed & learned; two of my favorite things to do. I laughed because I remembered details of my own journey that so closely resembled yours in our parallel spaces, up until connecting with you on FB. I learned that I can also get confirmation that I’ve been traveling on the right path when I read of someone else’s journey and I see that I’m not the only one considered “Crazy” with all this stuff, LOL, I take it as a compliment. Thank you for being a positive tour guide. Love & Light :)

Love and light to you, sister. The feeling is mutual. It’s so funny how so many of us stumble upon this quest in response to the challenges we faced. I didn’t like cancer… but so appreciate the life that awaited on the other side. I’m glad you enjoyed the articles :) Be blessed always XO
